I have been following little Zo Ee's language learning curve; she used to double the amount of words each month for the past months and with improved pronunciation of old words. But there is a sudden leap in the number of words that little Zo Ee is able to say and read aloud this month. I had counted (may miss some) and the total came out to be 256 one syllable words and 22 two syllables ords; 278 new words for this month alone and she has not even turn 15-months old yet. There will be four more days before she turns 15-months old, which means more words to be added on to her collection by then. Gosh!!! this is amazing! as she already has a grand total of 405 words up to now. And it is impossible for me to follow up closely with her performance anymore, so this may be the last time that I'm counting the number of her new words.
Although little Zo Ee can read and understand many words but she is not able to verbally utilize all of them yet like the pronouns (I, he, she, we), possessive adjectives (my, his, her, our), modals(can, may), prepositions (in, on, at), articles(a, an, the). Nevertheless her vocabulary usage is growing day by day especially on nouns, verbs and adjectives. Little Zo Ee loves learning verbs the most where she enjoys acting them out. Moreover with these many words in her collection, I'm not surprise, in fact, little Zo Ee is already able to read short sentences , not by herself yet but with Mummy 's help by pointing at each word, she is able to read the whole sentence. eg: " Happy baby, things that go." or " Kiss daddy." or "Go to bed." or "Look at her now, she will crawl."
