Although we have had always wanted to take little Zo Ee to the pool again since she loves water so much but Mummy and Daddy just couldn't find the time slot, just too many happening past months; re-flooring, sicked Zo Ee, vaccination, H1N1, Perth holiday, etc. And time just past and that was already 5-months ago since Zo Ee first swam in a proper pool while we were holidaying in Bali. (April 2009)
We finally took her swimming again two Fridays ago after a long break. Little Zo Ee was all excited when she saw the pools, telling us "swimming pool, swimming pool, swimming!". When we were nearer to the pool, immediately little Zo Ee wanted Daddy to put her onto the ground and dash!!! she went running towards the nearest pool. Daddy had a tough time, struggling to keep her away from it until she was finally in her swim suit. She was very careful when she first stepped into the splashing pool, hessitated to walk but to stand and observe the new environment. I got Daddy to walk her around the pool and she got more comfortable with the water, started to splash, telling us "splash! splash!" as she splashed along cheekily. We spent about 30-minutes in the pool, and decided to leave when little Zo Ee told us, "enough" (She has had enough of swimming.) Also according to books, the recommended time for a young baby/toddler in the pool is about 30-minutes only because they tend to loose body heat fast. And it is advisable to give them a warm drink immediately after that.
And we took her to the pool again this recent weekend (Saturday) because she has been frequently telling Mummy, "going swimming, going swimming " while standing at the door. Again, she was all excited when we reached the pool side today, trying to dash towards the pool again. She was more confident too this time round, more comfortable with the splashing pool and was all smile. When she finally had enough of her splashing (approximate 30-minutes), this time she was telling us, "Let's go." "Mummy, let's go." We changed her into her clothings but little Zo Ee just has not had enough, she was seen dashing towards the pool again, so Mummy was struggling in keeping her out of the water.
