Big girl Zo Ee - 16months old

Zo Ee at 16months 3weeks old. (1/9/2009)

Baby Zo Ee to Jie-jie Zo Ee (jie-jie means big sister in Chinese).
Little Zo Ee loves to be a jie-jie(big sister) herself, and each time I reminded her that she is a jie-jie now (since she is already walking and running well) and no more a baby herself (baby who crawls), she will be happily complying in difficult tasks. This comment seems to boost her self-confident a lot and thus she will be willingly cooperating and showing me her new skills. This works extremely well during difficult meal times and bath times.

Meal times
Some time when little Zo Ee refused to eat her rice as she will want to eat only all her side dishes, Mummy will use this trick. “Wow! Zo Ee is a jie-jie now. Zo Ee can eat rice with a spoon. Come Zo Ee, scoop some rice with the spoon.” When little Zo Ee did exactly that. Mummy will response, “WOW! Clever Girl!" And the confident Zo Ee will be happily feeding herself a few spoonful of rice, before saying, “WOW!!!” too.

Bath time
I have started pouring water directly onto her head with a big cup for a few months now. Sometimes, she is fine with it and other times, she will be strongly objecting to my doing. She will be asking for the towel while pointing at it, “towel, towel, wipe.” But she seems to be doing very well lately, especially whenever I make this comment, “WOW! Jie-jie Zo Ee… no more crying …clever girl” And she seems to like this comment, and after each pour directly onto her head, she will be happily saying, “WOW!” herself and so to spice things up, Mummy responded with enthusiasm too, “WoW! Jie-jie Zo Ee…no more crying…clever girl.”
