Yesterday, Mummy and Zo Ee were in a newly opened bookstore. While Mummy was busy browsing and looking for books, little Zo Ee was reading and browsing books nearby to Mummy. We were there for an hour and all the time, little Zo Ee was quietly reading by herself. She amazed most people in the bookstore because she's not reading baby or toddler books, she was in fact reading some fact books; air, liquid and solid. She was browsing on an adult book on How to teach your baby to swim. These were some of the comments Mummy overheard from strangers upon seeing little Zo Ee reading attentively by herself, "Oh! How I wish my daughter will read like her?" , "Oh! She must be a genius." Despite all these, little Zo Ee paid no attention to any of these people or their comments while continuing reading her books.
This incident reminded Mummy of another quite similar incident during our home leave last December, 2010. Zo Ee was browsing some books at the popular bookstore in Ipoh and she read out loud the titles of some books. A kindergarten teacher (stranger) overheard little Zo Ee's reading, she was curious so she asked about Zo Ee age(2years 7 months old) and asked little Zo Ee to read those books to her. When little Zo Ee could read at ease, she must have thought that Zo Ee must have read those books before. So she went to get some other books (higher grade) , again little Zo Ee read them with ease. She asked her to read some big words, again Zo Ee read to her. Finally, still in shocked, she commented, "Ha! she is only two and she read so well."
