Zo Ee stumbled upon some Suduko games on her VTech games. She insisted to play, so I explained to her and viola she actually understands and was able to fill in the answers correctly. So I tried copying a few simple ones from the Internet for her and she actually likes them.

Zo Ee's independent work - 3 year old
Zo Ee at 3 year old. (26/4/2011)
This is Mummy favourite of the day, especially the yawning face below.
She is good at using the right colours to express her picture too.
Although she only crossed out the plug and bird cage, nevertheless it's a good effort from her.
Mummy enjoys leaving a workbook on the table as at the end of the day, it will be very interesting flipping through the pages to see what little Zo Ee has completed by herself for the day. Below are pages done by my little Zo Ee who just turned 3. Sometimes, its amazing to see her work, her knowledge and understanding of the subject.

Song 1 (chorus and repeat not included)
Song 2 (chorus and repeat not included)
As said earlier, little Zo Ee could sing 70-90% of 7 Chinese New Year songs after about 1 month with the DVD, that was 3 months ago (end of January 2011). Mummy has been asking Daddy to copy the lyrics for her so that she can learn the Chinese words in those songs. Due to Daddy slow response, finally the first two songs was copied for Zo Ee today (above). When Daddy read them out to her, with the intention to teach her those characters, only to find out that little Zo Ee could read them well already. Since she was singing and reading them so fast, we tested her again and again, and it's confirmed that she really reads them. We pointed out to a phrase and she could read them out correctly. So Daddy's effort is too late. Little Zo Ee has learned them from the DVD itself. Again, she hardly watched this DVD after Chinese New Year, so she must have know them then too. Daddy's surprised and commented, "Amazing child!"

Daddy saw her very obsessed with this book; The Diary of the Wimpy Kid while at the bookstore. Daddy bought it for her yesterday and she has been hilarious and laughing her head off reading it. We we curious and when we read a few pages, we found that the language used is too rude for her who just turned 3 year old. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to take that book away from her now, she has been carrying it around since the first night and seems like her new bedtime book.

Logico - 3year old
Zo Ee at 3year old. (21/4/2011)
Zo Ee excitedly came running to the kitchen, proudly telling Mummy, "Mum! Mum! Congratulation!" She directed me to the hall to see her achievement. She had completed one of the LOGICO puzzle (new card) herself, flipped the card over to check the answer and she realized that she got them all correct. This is the first time, she played this by herself since she got this as her 3rd birthday present from Daddy and Mummy.
To check the answers, flipped over the chart and compared the colour buttons with the colour on the card. As seen, Zo Ee got them all correct. And she was very proud of her little achievement.

Mummy drew the black ladybird and spider above and Zo Ee's drawing is below.
We found an art book and were doing some drawings together. Mummy drew a polar bear, seal, dragonfly, penguin, ladybird and spider with Zo Ee. She was copying Mummy's work and I like the ladybird and spider drew by her the best.

Palolem Beach Again - 3 year old
Zo Ee at 3 year old. (16/4/2011)
We headed to the South of Goa, to Palolem Beach again. We wanted to enjoy the beach one more time before the expecting Monsoon in May/June. Little Zo Ee was as excited as before, seeing us packing for the trip. In fact, she wanted to leave that night itself and was refusing to go to bed.
She behaved well in the car for the whole 1 1/2 hour journey, keeping herself busy with food and books. She was quiet throughout, and suddenly, she exclaimed "We are there!!! We are at Palolem. " Daddy was amazed she could recognize the place, we were about 200m away from the beach and was passing by those little stalls along the road side. Daddy asked her, "Do you remember this place?" Little Zo Ee replied, "Yes. I remembered." This is our second trip to Palolem and was 2 month apart from the first. ; )
This time, we stayed in a cottage house instead of a hut, a different experience for her. She fell in-love with the sea even more this time. She was extremely brave, was not crying even hit by the big waves. In fact, she loved being crashed by the big waves. She was having so much fun and Mummy had a hard time getting her out of the water. She just refused to move and was laughing out loud after each hit by a waves. Some waves were so huge, almost knocked her down and she found it fun! She also collected some seashells, increasing her already existing collection.
We had a wonderful BBQ dinner, a treat from our friend by the beach. Since it was almost full moon, it was hide tide that night. And occasionally, a huge wave will wash up ashore, and water were at our feet while we were having dinner. What an experience!!! We had some Thai food for lunch the next day and spend time leisurely by the beach until we headed home at 5pm.

Bookmarking a page - 2year 11month
Zo Ee at 2year 11month old. (10/4/2011)
Lately, Mummy found Zo Ee has a new habit; bookmarking a page as shown. She is very particular now as where she has stopped reading and will go back to continue after some interruption. Maybe its time to get her some bookmarks but because she reads many books in parallel, Mummy wondered how many bookmarks will be sufficient?

Eggplant with a stem.(right)
Zo Ee saw an eggplant in the kitchen, she requested, "Mum! Mum! I want to see and touch the eggplant." So Mummy passed her the eggplant, then excited little Zo Ee was talking a little about the eggplant in her hand. Mummy was busy and was not paying attention to her. The next moment, Mummy found her disappeared with the eggplant. So when Mummy went to checking, little Zo Ee was sitting at the table, drawing this eggplant. Mummy is surprised as this is her first attempt in drawing a live sketch. Can been seen here, little Zo Ee tried mixing blue and red together in order to produce purple for her eggplant as her purple coloured pencil was no way in sight.

Then Zo Ee added some decoration to her birth date.

Seeing details - 2years 11months old
Zo Ee at 2years 11months old. (5/4/2011)
Zo Ee kept asking Mummy, "Mum! Mum! What's wrong with Pluto's eyes?" Everything seems perfect to Mummy. Since Mummy couldn't find what is wrong, so Mummy asked Zo Ee, "What is actually wrong with Pluto?" Zo Ee replied, " Pluto's eyes joined together." Oops!!! She is right. Nevertheless, she kept insisting an explanation to that weird occurrence. She was not satisfied even though Mummy told her that it's not real, as it is only a cartoon character, thus the cartoonist can draw it any way he likes although we may not be able to see such in reality.

Looking up dictionary- 2years 11months old.
Zo Ee at 2years 11month old. (4/4/2011)
Zo Ee was reading her Disney book, then suddenly, she asked me, "Mummy please find the word Pow." Initially I couldn't get her. So she ran over to get and pass me my big dictionary. While handling me the dictionary, she said, "Mummy, please find the word Pow." So she had actually wanted to know the meaning of Pow. Unfortunately, Pow is just a sound made during a boxing match and from the dictionary, Mummy found another meaning of POW, abbreviation for Prisoner of War. Nevertheless, Mummy is very impressed that she actually asked to look out meaning of word that she cannot understand from a dictionary. Moreover, she's pretty smart knowing that this particular word cannot be found in her 1500 words children dictionary that she had just completed reading last month.

Colours - 2years 11months old
Zo Ee at 2years 11months old. (3/4/2011)
Past one month or so, little Zo Ee has been into colourful phase. Most of her drawings are very colourful. She is also very into with warm colours; writing, drawing and painting with lots of warm colours. Mummy noticed that little Zo Ee has been trying to mix colours too. She knows that blue + red make purple, yellow + blue make green, red + blue make purple, yellow + red make orange, black + white make grey and mixed all colours will give her brown. Adding white into other colours will give her lighter shades and black will result in darker colours. All these, she learned from a tv program and trying those ideas by herself. Mummy also noticed that little Zo Ee has been trying with different medium; poster colours/paints, coloured pencils, crayons and play doh. Besides, she is also adding texture into her paintings; white, black or other colour dots /lines over a painted area, eg. she'll paint some yellow surface before adding some red lines on top.
Another colourful piece from little Zo Ee.
Some colourful circles and colours mixing with crayons.
Mixing paint; to get orange, purple, brown etc.
